# FAQ

## Why does so much AI video still look bad?

> **Summary:** Access to AI tools expanded faster than taste and judgment—and often the giveaway is too much perfection rather than the right kinds of imperfection.

Because access to AI-production technology has expanded much faster than access to taste, storytelling and creative judgment. Generating imagery is becoming easy. Generating something specific, deliberate, believable and emotionally appropriate is much harder.

The familiar "AI look"—perfect skin, perfect lighting, excessive symmetry, generic sci-fi worlds, spectacular transitions for no strategic reason—is often a creative-direction problem rather than simply a technology problem. Often, paradoxically, the giveaway is too much perfection. Perfect lighting. Perfect skin. Perfect symmetry. Real life isn't perfect, so when everything looks idealized, the eye knows something is wrong.

The craft is introducing the right kinds of imperfection. Skin texture, facial asymmetry, a hesitation, a nervous mannerism, or an awkward pause can make a performance feel alive. Eight fingers is the wrong kind of imperfection. A subtle flinch can be the right kind. Distinguishing those differences requires taste and an understanding of people, not just generation.
